Thomas hooked up with Paul Douchette drummer and Brian Yale bassist. The trio began playing music together as Tabitha's Secret with 2 other members and then left the band, added guitarists Kyle Cook and Adam Gaynor, and created Matchbox 20.
What began as a fivesome from Florida playing to empty clubs in the Canadian Rockies during the dead of winter has transformed into a band playing to sell-out crowds, getting MTV support and enjoying major hit.
The attraction is their storytelling lyrics, as on"Long Day," and "Girl Like That," .With the song Push, Matchbox20 began a steady rise to fame that left them with a multi-millionselling debut LP radio saturation of singles and many tour dates.Their first album "YOURSELF OR SOMEONE LIKE YOU" was released in 1996 ..then in year 2000 they released another album "MAD SEASON" with the chart-topping song-Bent. Later, they changed the band's name from Matchbox 20 to Matchbox Twenty.

Kyle got into matchbox twenty by audition tapes! learned to play guitar at age 13 - He used to practice 5-7 hours a day. He has a wife name Sabrina who he now lives with in Florida (I heard he was looking to relocate to Chicago!) He joined the band when he was only 19. Some of his influences include the Rollingstones and the Beatles. He does a cover of the Beatles' Don't Let Me Down (I love that song!) He sings the chorus on 'Hang', both live and on the CD.

Favourite movie is Mars Attacks He is known for the Pookie Shuffle..he does it at concerts... (a little bit of it is in the Live From Australia movie, look out for it!)
ADAM GAYNOR

Eyes: Hazel Adam doesn't smoke, he's the only member of matchbox twenty that doesn't. Adam said he knew he wanted to be in matchbox twenty when he heard Rob sing 'Push'. He became a matchstick while he was a secretary a record company he taught himself how to play the guitar; his sister was first given a guitar and got a lot of attention which made Adam jealous. So he stole his sister's guitar and taught himself how to play he only paints his thumb and pinky finger he likes the band Bush

Yes, it's because of Paul that matchbox twenty has the name Matchbox20. He was a waiter in a diner, and he saw a guy wearing a patch with number 20 on it and it was covered in various patches. He saw the name matchbox and put the two together...by the way, Paul says he rocked at being a waiter He was in Tabitha's Secret along with Rob and Brian. Okay, I'm just guessing this, but he's Rob's best friend (they're always together!) He says he hates the internet. He is a fan of the cartoon, 'South Park'. He is one member of the band who changes his hair color frequently. Paul is 5'4 his favourite cigarettes are Marlboro his favourite song to perform is Push he wanted to be a musician since he was 10 his greatest influence is R.E.M .
